During a special legislative session, Texas lawmakers created and passed new voting maps for Texas House Districts, Texas Senate Districts, and US Congressional Districts. This only happens once every ten years, after new data from the census is collected. The census showed that 95% of population growth in Texas came from community of color, but the new maps result in more majority-white districts.
